Position Summary

We are seeking a Manager of Radiation Physics and Data Analytics to lead the development of organizational expertise in irradiation technologieswhile providing foundational data analytics capabilities that support strategic decision-making across the company.
This strategic, high-impact role combines technical mastery of Rhodotron® X-ray accelerator technology and Cobalt-60 gamma irradiation systems with a broad data-driven mandate that includes market analysis, production analytics, statistical process control, and predictive modeling. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of applied radiation physics, industrial operations, and organizational analytics, and will act as both a technical authority and a data-driven mentor to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Irradiation Technology Leadership
Serve as BENEBION’s internal expert and reference for:
Rhodotron® X-ray accelerator technology
Cobalt-60 gamma irradiation systemsLead technical understanding of physics, operation, performance, optimization, and limitations of irradiation technologies.
Support startup, commissioning, and optimization of the Rhodotron facility and other irradiation modalities.
Provide technical input to operations, engineering, regulatory, and safety functions, ensuring the technologies are deployed and managed effectively.
Data Analytics and Strategic Insight
Establish foundational analytics tools and frameworks to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Apply analytical and statistical methods to:
Market data and seasonal demand patterns
Production and capacity data
Process performance metrics and time-series analysisImplement and interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other continuous improvement tools.
Support creation of predictive models, dashboards, and KPIs to inform strategic and operational decisions.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT to ensure data integrity and model adoption organization-wide.
Organizational Enablement/Mentorship
Act as a technical mentor to the organization’s Six Sigma Green Belts and other analytical practitioners.
Promote a culture of rigorous data usage, statistical thinking, and evidence-based decision making.
Contribute analytical expertise to internal audits, compliance efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Time Allocation Note (for internal clarity): It is expected that approximately 33 % of the role’s time and resources will be dedicated to organization-wide data analytics and enablement activities, with the remainder focused on irradiation physics, technical leadership, and operational impact.
Key Requirements
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in:
Radiation Physics
Nuclear Engineering
Applied Physics
Or a related quantitative/technical disciplineDemonstrated technical understanding of ionizing radiation physics and irradiation systems, including accelerators and gamma sources.
Experience, aptitude, or willingness to develop deep expertise in Rhodotron and Cobalt-60 irradiation technologies.
Strong ability to apply data analytics, statistical modeling, forecasting, and quantitative problem solving.
Proficiency with analytical tools such as:
Python, MATLAB, R, SQL, or equivalentExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement methods.
Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex technical and analytical insights to diverse audiences.
Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
Ability to work effectively with autonomy in a complex, regulated, industrial environment.
