Position Summary

BENEBION is expanding its high-energy irradiation operations with new X-ray capacity while continuing to operate and optimize its gamma facilities. We are seeking a Mid-Level Technical Buyer responsible for the procurement of industrial equipment and engineered systems for both X-ray and Gamma plants.

This role focuses on high-energy electrical systems, refrigeration and cooling systems, power transformation and distribution, material handling systems, civil/industrial infrastructure components, and vendor fiscal compliance management.

This is a technical-commercial control role with financial discipline and regulatory rigor, reporting directly to the CFO.


Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Procurement (CAPEX & Critical Systems)

  • Lead sourcing and procurement of:

    • High-voltage electrical       equipment

    • Transformers and power       distribution systems

    • Industrial refrigeration and       thermal management systems

    • Conveyor systems and material       handling equipment

    • Shielding-related construction       materials

    • Industrial mechanical and       structural components

  • Interpret technical      specifications and drawings in collaboration with engineering teams

  • Ensure equipment compliance with      applicable standards and technical requirements

2. Vendor Selection & Negotiation

  • Identify, qualify, and evaluate      national and international suppliers

  • Conduct structured      technical-commercial bid comparisons

  • Lead negotiation of pricing,      payment terms, warranties, and service agreements

  • Structure contracts to minimize      delivery, performance, and integration risk

  • Evaluate total cost of ownership      (TCO)

3. Fiscal Compliance & Vendor Risk Management

  • Ensure vendors meet all fiscal      and regulatory compliance requirements under Mexican law

  • Verify and maintain:

    • Valid tax registration (RFC)

    • CFDI compliance

    • SAT status documentation

    • Vendor tax opinion (Opinión de       Cumplimiento)

  • Coordinate with accounting to      ensure proper invoice structure and deductibility

  • Monitor compliance for      contractors and service providers (including REPSE where applicable)

  • Implement vendor due diligence      procedures to reduce fiscal and legal exposure

  • Maintain audit-ready procurement      documentation

4. Project Procurement Management

  • Align procurement schedules with      construction milestones

  • Monitor lead times for      critical-path equipment

  • Track manufacturing progress and      manage expediting

  • Coordinate logistics, customs,      and import documentation

  • Ensure completeness of technical      documentation, certificates, and manuals

5. Financial & Budget Control

  • Work closely with the CFO on:

    • CAPEX budget adherence

    • Cost tracking and variance       analysis

    • Payment scheduling and cash flow       planning

    • Currency exposure and structured       payment terms

  • Maintain transparent procurement      reporting

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Interface with:

    • Engineering and Radiation       Physics teams

    • Civil contractors

    • Installation teams

    • Operations management

  • Support commissioning readiness

Key Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Industrial Engineering

    • Or related technical field

Experience

  • 5+ years in industrial      procurement or technical purchasing

  • Experience in CAPEX or industrial      plant environments

  • Experience managing vendor fiscal      documentation and compliance

  • Exposure to high-voltage,      refrigeration, or heavy industrial systems preferred

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret      technical drawings

  • Understanding of power      distribution and industrial systems

  • Knowledge of Mexican fiscal      compliance requirements for vendors

  • Strong Excel and procurement      tracking skills
